Department of Mechanical manufacturing and automation engine
In 1977, Teaching and research section (TRS) of mechanical engineering of Jiaozuo mining institute, as the predecessor of Department of Mechanical manufacturing and automation engineering was founded, and in 2005, the TRS of mechanism merged with TRS of machine design to become the department of mechanical engineering after the school changed its name, and in 2007, considering the needs of the subject development, those two sections were divided into department of mechanical manufacturing and automation and department of mechanical design. Relying on the advanced manufacturing technology research institute in the school and the institute of precision engineering, those two departments consist of TRS of mechanical manufacturing and automation, machinery manufacturing laboratory and precision measurement laboratory. The department of mechanical manufacturing and automation undertakes the undergraduate, master and doctoral professional courses of machinery manufacturing direction. In 1995, the mechanical manufacturing discipline received the right to grant national master degree, and in 2005, received the first level master’s in mechanical engineering, at the same time, had the engineering master’s authorization in mechanical engineering, and in 2006, received the right to award national doctoral degree, and in 2008, the mechanical engineering discipline became the primary financing level of key disciplines in Henan province, in the same year, undergraduate specialty was approved as national characteristic specialty, and in 2009, this department was approved the construction of the provincial key laboratory, in the same year, undergraduate specialty is approved by a professional admissions.
 
Research direction:
(1) Precision and special processing technology
Mainly aiming at the commonly used in engineering difficult-to-machine materials and hard brittle material, studies its precision ultra-precision efficient processing technology and equipment, solves the problem of special processing method and its theory, to our country national defense, aerospace, military, civilian goods in the areas of development is of great significance. This research direction is mainly engaged in the use of ultrasonic machining, electroforming, electrolysis and other special processing technology combining with precision machining methods, of engineering ceramics, high silicon composite materials, carbon fiber composite materials such as precision machining difficult-to-machine materials efficiently.
(2) Complex curved surface digital manufacturing technology
This direction conduct in-depth research in the basis of the numerical control processing technology combined with complexity surface forming technology, the complex curved surface as cooperate with characteristic on the surface of the shaft and hole, mechanical properties and surface optimization, and on this basis, combining with our advantages of ultrasonic machining technology, the digital manufacture technology to a new generation of advanced digital equipment development, reverse engineering and other fields to further expand, the information technology used in the design, manufacture and maintenance management in the whole life cycle of products, to improve the manufacturing efficiency and quality of products, to reduce the manufacturing cost, enhance the product performance and market competitiveness.
